DMCA Notice & Takedown Policy

learningtool.org ("we", "our", "us", or the "Platform") respects the intellectual property rights of content creators and copyright owners. We comply with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) and similar international copyright laws. This policy explains how copyright owners can report infringement and how we respond.
1. Our Role as a Platform
learningtool.org hosts, indexes, and displays educational material including:
- User-uploaded documents (PDFs, textbooks, notes, exam papers, etc.)
- Links or embeds to publicly available resources
- AI-generated study support
- Featured YouTube videos (embedded/linked only)
We do not claim ownership of any third-party content.
We act as a service provider, and under the DMCA we are not liable for infringing content uploaded by users, as long as we remove it when properly notified.
2. Filing a DMCA Takedown Notice
If you believe that material on learningtool.org infringes your copyright, you may submit a DMCA Takedown Notice.
Your notice MUST include all the information below:
- Identification of the copyrighted work you believe has been infringed (title, description, URL, etc.).
- Exact URL(s) of the infringing material on our website.
- Your full legal name, company (if applicable), and contact information (email and/or phone number).
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement that the information in your notice is accurate, and that you are the copyright owner or are authorized to act on the owner's behalf.
- Your physical or electronic signature.

Incomplete notices may not be processed.
3. Our Response to Valid DMCA Notices
When we receive a valid DMCA notice:
- We will remove or disable access to the reported material.
- We will notify the user who posted the content (if applicable).
- We may request additional information from the complainant if clarification is needed.
- We may terminate or suspend users who repeatedly upload infringing content.
We are not responsible for content removal delays caused by incorrect or incomplete notices.
4. Counter-Notification (If You Believe Your Content Was Removed in Error)
If your content was removed and you believe it was wrongly taken down, you may submit a DMCA Counter-Notice.
Your counter-notice must include:
- Your name, address, phone number, and email.
- The URL of the content that was removed.
- A sworn statement that you have a good-faith belief that the removal was a mistake or misidentification.
- A statement consenting to the jurisdiction of the courts in your country of residence.
- Your physical or electronic signature.

If the counter-notice is valid, we may restore the content unless the original complainant files a legal action within 10–14 business days.
5. Repeat Infringer Policy
Users who repeatedly upload or share copyrighted material without permission may have their accounts:
- Suspended,
- Restricted, or
- Permanently terminated.
We reserve the right to decide what constitutes a "repeat infringer."
